Sequins, galvanising dancing and glitter, Juliette Chevalier’s first show reunites queer thinking and Ch’ti folklore in a joyful carnival.
When the 2020 lockdown was decided, Juliette Chevalier had just come back from the Dunkirk festival, famous for its contagious anthems, its farandoles and the human warmth. As a tribute to this popular tradition, become even more precious after the lockdown, the choreographer invites eight dancers to throw a party as queer as pagan. Voguing, circus and farandoles blend and turn into a harmony of bodies that proves utterly redeeming.
