Choreographer Claudia Castellucci creates an echo between dance and the sounds of the French countryside, innately free and unpredictable, devoid of any structure, rhythm or hierarchy and rooted in present time.
To compose his Catalogue d’oiseaux, composer Olivier Messiaen patiently listened to birds’ singing. He transcribed it in a piano score, in which one can hear landscapes, weather and habitat neighbours with which they exchange. In her show, Claudia Castellucci turns ideas into choreographies, in which five dancers dressed in black like carrion crows and a pianist create a perfect fusion between sound and movement.
